What is a Veteran-Specific PHP?

A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for veterans is an intensive clinical intervention designed for those who require a higher level of medical and therapeutic oversight than traditional outpatient therapy can provide, but do not require 24/7 inpatient confinement. For many service members, PHP serves as a "tactical bridge," allowing them to engage in deep trauma work during the day while returning to the safety of their home or veteran-housing in the evenings.

At Resilience Behavioral Health, our PHP is structured around the unique neurobiology of military trauma. According to the VA National Center for PTSD, intensive daily treatment significantly improves long-term outcomes for veterans struggling with combat-related PTSD and moral injury compared to weekly counseling sessions.

Clinical Intensity

Veterans attend the program 5 days a week, typically from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This immersive schedule allows for daily Psychiatric Care and multiple sessions of specialized trauma-informed therapy.

Medical Oversight

Because PHP is a high-acuity level of care, veterans receive regular medication management and health monitoring to address the physical manifestations of chronic stress, such as hypertension or sleep disorders.
